"Eid-ul-Fitr - a Festival of Charity "
''EID'' is an Arabic word meaning "Festivity"
And "FITR" means "Charity"
Eid, is celebrated in the first three days of shaw’waal month; Shaw'waal is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramdan ul Mubarak - the Islamic holy month of fasting; the holiday celebrates the conclusion of the twenty-nine or thirty days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramdan . The festival begins when the month of Shaw’waal & the sight of the new moon is seen in the sky.
Eid-ul-Fitr is not a mere festival devoted entirely to merrymaking, feasting and enjoyment. This Eid marks the termination of the blessed month of Ramadan and it is an act of collective thanks- giving to Allah for the boon of Ramdan and for having given us the strength to keep the fasts. During the Eid .
Prayers high and low stand shoulder to shoulder, and together bow and prostrate before Allah. All distinctions of class and status disappear. After the prayers are over, the muslim brethren embrace one another, and visit each other and greet Eid Mubarak .
In the following twenty-three years, Holy Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W.W) was visited many times by Hazrat Jibril (A.S) , who taught him the holy knowledge in verses. This sacred knowledge consists of the code of conduct that Allah wants his people to maintain on earth. It is inscribed in verses which are compiled in the holy Qur'an, the most sacred book in Islam .
It is said that the sacred knowledge was revealed to Hazrat Muhammad(S.A.W.W) during the month of Ramdan.
The prophet asked his followers (and therefore the followers of Islam) to pass the month of Ramadan in fasting, prayers and other austerities and end the month-long non-indulgence with festive celebrations. This is how Eid-Ul-Fitr was born. This three-day long celebration ends the ninth month and begins the tenth month of Shaw’waal with absolute happiness and contentment for the ability to sacrifice for Allah. The aim of this festival is to promote peace, strengthen the feeling of brotherhood and bring oneself back to the normal course of life after a month-long period of self-denial and religious devotion.
''Allah '' says in Sura al-Baqarah , ayat 185: “You shall complete the number (of days) and you may glorify God for His guiding you, and that you may be thankful .”
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) and the Imams celebrated Eid and encouraged all Muslims to do so. They told muslims to wear good clothes, put on perfume, and go to the mosque to recite the Eid prayer. They also said to exchange Eid greetings, visit each other and generally pass the day joyfully. We should remember the poor by taking out fitrah before Eid, and visiting them and sending them gifts if we can.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) says: “ Eid is for him whose fasts have been accepted by Allah, and whose worship has been appreciated by Allah. Everyday in which you do not disobey Allah is a day of Eid .”
Anas (R.A), a companion of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) reported that when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) migrated from Makkah to Madinah, the people of Madinah used to have two festivals. On those two days they had carnivals and festivity. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked the Ansaar (the Muslims of Madinah) about it. They replied that before Islam they used to have carnivals on those two joyous days. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told them: 'Instead of those two days, Allah has appointed two other days which are better, the days of Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha.' (Hadith) .
Muslims are not only celebrating the end of fasting, but thanking Allah for the help and strength that He gave them throughout the previous month to help them practice self-control. On this day Muslims show their real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which Allah has given to them to fulfill their obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan. The prayer is followed by the Khutbah; Khutbah is part of the worship and listening to it is Sunnah. The Imam must remind the community about its responsibilities and obligations towards Allah, fellow Muslims and the fellow human beings. The Imam must encourage the Muslims to do good and ward off evil. The Muslim community must also be directed to the state of the community and the Ummah at large and the feelings of sacrifice and Jihaad should be aroused in the community.
Eid - ul - Fitr , prayer is wajib (strongly recommended , just short of obligatory) .
Who should go to the prayer ground & offer Eid Prayer ?
Umm Atiyah (ra) reported: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w) commanded us to bring out on Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha, young women, hijab-observing adult women; I (Umm Atiyah) said to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w): Oh! Messenger of Allah, one does not have an outer garment. He replied: Let her sister cover her with her garment . "

“ LAYLAT - UL - QADR ”
What A Night !!

No Night Could Be Better
And
No Gift Could Be Better Than A Guide,
For The Journey Of Life !!
It Is Recommended To Spend,
A Part Of The Nights In Prayers..
“ Seekers, Winners, Sleepers, Losers ”
It is the anniversary of the night “ Qu’ran Pak ” , Its also known as “ SHAB - E - QADR ” , Muslims do worship ( Ibadat ) whole night recitet Qur’an Pak, offer Namaz Qaza / nafl salah, read Salat ul Tasbee, do zhikr of Allah Pak , Send Darood and Salam Upon “ Nabi Pak S.a.w ’’ as much as possible , pray to God to fulfill their desires & forgive all sins .
We should also strive to establish the night vigil prayer (tahajjud).
Abu Huraira(R.A) narrated that the Messenger(s.a.w.w) said: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylat ul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
This Surah was revealed at a time when some Sahabah ( companions of the Holy Prophet s.a.w.w ) who were advance in their ages came to Holy Prophet s.a.w.w and said that the nation of previous prophets had long lives and they had more time for the worship of God; sahabah were worried as they were already old and did not have any enough time to worship God to their satisfaction, so Allah Pak revealed this surah and said that he grant His followers of the Holy Prophet s.a.w.w this special night which is better than thousand months; if someone prays on this night , will get a reward equal to thousand months , even more , this night angel Hazrat Jibrail a.s comes and brings blessings for everyone, specially for those who are busy worshipping ( Ibadat )of Almighty Allah with earnestness .

Ibn Majah narrated that on Saiid reported that the Prophet (S.A.W.W) said: "On this month there is a night better than thousand months, whoever misses it, he misses all the good, no one misses the good except he who is at loss."

He [salalahu alayhi wa salam] said :
“Say: اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
[Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee .
[ O Allah, you are the One who grants pardon for sins. You love to pardon, so pardon me]

Journey begins...
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
everyone.
My name is Danial Hussain Hydari & i'm the 2nd contributor to this blog after Ms.Fauzia who wrote the 1st ever article for this blog & indeed, it gave much pleasure to c dat she was not presenting typical pseudo-intellectual kind of thoughts but rather, dose points dat v as a nation, have long forgotten.
The reason to write this first article is just to get a feel of how blogs operate & thanks to my good friend Abdul Samad Ghanchi, if he hadn't created this blog, i wouldn't have been persuaded to write at all on such a platform as i've ben told by many many people in the past to writem but it's just, well, sheer laid-back attitude of mine ;)
So, umm, as far as this blog is concerned, i would like to clarify in the begining that it's a great new platform for KASBIANS to showcase their talent & bring out the frustrations that they have in their mind regarding different issues that surround them.
Writing is, and has always been, a great tool for human beings, as it not only helps one to put his ideas of mind to paper, but also helps to generate a healthy discussion among individuals from different backgrounds, creating more & more tolerance in all to listen to others. At the same time, others should also be kind enough to listen to your opinion.
Well then, a good bit of introduction to this blog is hopefully done. It was a nice lil quick experience :)
Tc everyone & best wishes :)

Independence Day
INDEPENDANCE DAY
means a day when we had got freedom from not only English brute rulers but freedom from want from fulfillment of right needs.
The dream of Muffakir-e-Pakistan (The Thinker of Pakistan) Dr Allama Iqbal , the untiring efforts, and dauntless courage of Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah , come true ,On 14 August 1947 , in a blessing month of Ramdan -ul - Mubarak , (27 Ramadan, 1366 Hijri) , a country come over the world map as the name :
“ The Islamic Republic of Pakistan''
The Land which is found by many hardships, by struggle of Muslims leaders & Muslims of sub-continent.
The Two Nation Theory was a founding principle of the Pakistan Movement.
Quaid- e – Azam united the Indian Muslims under the banner of the Muslim League and carved out a homeland for them, despite stiff opposition from the Hindu Congress and the British Government.
“ World Biggest MIGRATION OF HUMAN BEING ON EARTH ''
Where, Over 1 million people migrated from India to Pakistan
Millions left for their promised new homeland with smiles on their faces as trains left both India and Pakistan.
This is a train to Pakistan being given a warm send-off.
In 1947, the border between India and its new neighbor Pakistan became a river of blood, as the exodus erupted into rioting.
These pictures are by Margaret Bourke-White from Khushwant Singh's book Train to Pakistan, Roli Books.
Overcrowded trains leaving for Pakistan following the partition.
Another image of people on the train to Pakistan .
Over 10 million people were uprooted from their homeland and travelled on foot, bullock carts and trains to their promised new home.
An aged and abandoned Muslim couple and their grandchildren sitting by the the roadside on this arduous journey.
"The old man is dying of exhaustion. The caravan has gone on," wrote Bourke-White.
In a couple of months in the summer of 1947, a million people were slaughtered on both sides in the religious rioting.
Here, bodies of the victims of rioting are picked up from a city street.
The massive exchange of population that took place in the summer of 1947 was unprecedented.
It left behind a trail of death and destruction. The Indian map was slashed to make way for a new country - Pakistan.
The street was short and narrow. Lying like the garbage across the street and in its open gutters were bodies of the dead
With the tragic legacy of an uncertain future, a young refugee sits on the walls of Purana Qila, transformed into a vast refugee camp in Delhi.
Men, women and children who died in the rioting were cremated on a mass scale.
Villagers even used oil and kerosene when wood was scarce.
''WORLD'S BIGGEST MIGRATION OF HUMAN BEING ON EARTH TOOK PLACE ''
Quaid-e-Azam said (5, March 1948 )
“ No doubt, there are many people who do not quite appreciate when we talk of Islam. Islam is not only a set of rituals, traditions and spiritual doctrines. Islam is also a code for every Muslim, which regulates his life and his conduct in even politics and economics and the like. It is based upon highest principles of honor, integrity, fair play and justice for all.” (Jinnah, 5th March 1948).
Now the world understand- Pakistan ka matlab kya : “ Laa ilaaha illal lah '' !
“ Salute to Pakistan by Kasbitian ''
aey pak watan jab bhi tu ne pukara
hum barh kar badal daingay burray waqt ka dhara
niklain gay kafan baandh k sar pe teray betay
goonjay ga arsh pe teray naam ka na’ara
hum teri mohabbat ki qasam khaye huwaye hain
aey pak watan tu humain jaan se piyara hai
yeh shehar, yeh karriye, yeh gulistan, yeh bahaarain
jannat se fuzoon tar teray sehraa ka nizara
bin teray apna koi thikana bhi nahi hai
bin teray kahan dhoondnay jayengay sahara
hai meray liye TAKHAT E SULEMAAN teri mitti
hai mujh ko teri khaak ka bhi sitara
